7 Songs for Winter

June 9, 2008

o it’s not winter here. It is getting a bit chilly at night though.. Saw this in my sister’s blog & I knew if she tagged people she would have tagged me.

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re not any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now, shaping your spring. Post these instructions in your blog along with your 7 songs.

My playlist for this month includes:

1. POISON – Alice Cooper

don’t ask me why but I have been singing this song so much. good rage song i suppose. Scream it don’t sing it!

Dont want to touch you but you’re under my skin (deep in)
I want to kiss you but your lips are venomous poison

    2. WORN ME DOWN – Rachael Yamagata

Not so much anymore.. but for a while I kept singing this. Again angst.. issues.. but it doesn’t apply too much anymore but it was a big part of my consciousness some weeks back. Rachael Yamagata’s songs are so smooth. Love her!

Gone, she’s gone. How do you feel about it?
That’s what I thought, You’re real torn up about it
And I wish you the best, But I could do without it
And I will, because you’ve worn me down

      3. HAND IN MY POCKET – Alanis Morissette

I listen to the acoustic version and it brings me back.. waay back. But oh her lyrics always hit right home specially when i was feeling under the weather & I’ll put special effort on NOT looking like shit. I’m sick but I’m pretty. I hear ya girl.

        I’m broke but I’m happy
        I’m poor but I’m kind
I’m short but I’m healthy, yeah
        I’m high but I’m grounded
        I’m sane but I’m overwhelmed
I’m lost but I’m hopeful baby

What it all comes down to
Is that everything’s gonna be fine fine fine
I’ve got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five

        4. BEAUTIFUL WORLD – Colin Hay

such a chilled out song. it reminds me so much of my friend Will.

All around is anger automatic guns
It’s death in large numbers no respect for women or our little ones
I tried talking to Jesus but He just put me on hold
Said He’d been swamped by calls this week
And He couldn’t shake His cold

          And still this emptiness persists
Perhaps this is as good as it gets
When you’ve given up the drink and those nasty cigarettes
Now I leave the party early at least with no regrets
I watch the sun as it comes up I watch it as it sets
Yeah this is as good as it gets.

          5. DON’T STOP THE MUSIC – Rihanna

for a taste of clubbing music.. my favourite putting-on-make-up-&-primping for a night out song.

            It’s gettin late
I’m making my way over to my favorite place
I gotta get my body moving shake the stress away
I wasn’t looking for nobody when you looked my way
            Possible candidate (yeah)
Who knew that you’d be up in here lookin like you do
You’re makin’ stayin’ over here impossible
Baby I must say your aura is incredible

            6. THE HEART OF LIFE – John Mayer

John John John. I love you. I’m loving this song right now. Great comforting song..

Pain throws your heart to the ground love turns the whole thing around
no it wont all go the way it should
but I know the heart of life is good

You know it’s nothin’ new bad news never had good timing
then the circle of your friends will defend the silver lining

              7. CRASH INTO ME – Dave Matthews Band

One of my all time favourite songs. Still on my recent playlist.

You wear nothing but you wear it so well
Tied up and twisted the way Id like to be
For you, for me, come crash Into me

So those are the songs of the sound track of this month. Care to share yours?

                Love Thursday #2

                June 7, 2008

Yeah.. I know it’s supposed to be posted on Thursdays but my internet’s been acting up again.

Me & my man on our own patch of paradise

                Love..

…this particular beach – Kakula. Our own little island.

…the many shades of blue from the sea to the sky..

…this particular morning in a secluded stretch of beautiful white sand reading, snoozing, chatting, cuddling, wading, bonding.

…this photo. so chill. so relaxed. just like we were.
