Fridays are for FUN

Jack & I were feeling celebratory (for a reason that will remain undisclosed) and planned a night of ‘things we’ve never done together before’. So we started with an early dinner at Houndstooth on Johnston Street inspired by this rave review.

The place is a great find! Excellent service, awesome atmosphere (if it is nice out, ask to be seated in the courtyard), great music selection and sumptuous and cheap food!IMG_0612IMG_0615

Finished the meal at 7:30 and made our way to the Comedy theatre along Exhibition Street. Saw Avenue Q and loved it!

One Month1

fun comes in yellow

We originally wanted to go dancing in the city but I had to change my shoes because I got blisters from wearing my new pumps without stockings.  We decided to forgo going to the city and stayed close to home instead. We went  for a couple of drinks at one of our favourite bars in the neighbourhood – Black Pearl and then went dancing at the Night Cat.

One MonthAnd when we had our fill of dancing we retired to Bar Open – another one of our favourite haunts on Brunswick Street and danced on the street to the beat of busker drumming

Can I just say, one of the things I so love about this neighbourhood is the friendly people who amalgamate in this diverse little corner of Melbourne. Every time I go out I always have interesting & funny conversations with random strangers. I’ve lived in quite a number of cities and no where else in the world have I met people so friendly and open to just having a chat! I don’t know many people in Melbourne yet but I have never felt like I don’t have enough friends, I go out with Jack and we talk to more than 10 randoms a night! Going out in Brunswick Street is like going to a massive party where anyone and everyone is your friend.
